Alabama small forward Brandon Miller will likely go in the top 3 of Thursday’s NBA Draft.

The NBA Draft is different than drafts in other sports because of the impact that a single player can have on a team. One draft pick can catapult a team from out of the playoffs into championship contention. This makes sense as only five players can play at once during an NBA game as opposed to 11 per side in the NFL and nine per side in Major League Baseball. The NBA Draft also gives teams an opportunity to secure franchise players that they would otherwise have no chance at acquiring. Free agents rarely sign in San Antonio or Milwaukee, but both franchises have acquired superstars through the draft and won NBA championships in the past decade. There are multiple potential franchise players in the 2023 NBA Draft. We’ll see where they go as the NBA Draft gets under way at 8 PM ET on Thursday June 22. Let’s get to the picks.

One note before we begin: this mock draft is who I believe teams will pick, not who they should pick.
